Flanigan construction acquires green roof company Stancills

The Baltimore-based, family-owned construction firm P. Flanigan & Sons said Thursday that it has acquired Stancills Inc., another family-owned company that Flanigan already had been using to supply the aggregate and soils for storm water and other environmental projects.

Details of the acquisition were not disclosed, but officials said Perryville-based Stancills will continue to operate as an independent entity and maintain its current organization and staff.

The acquisition will allow Flanigan to build on its environmental offerings by bringing in-house the manufacture of products used in construction of storm water management projects, sport surfaces and equestrian fields. Flanigan executives say this will make the company more efficient and allow for sharing of experience and skills that could lead to more innovation.
