Edge Web Hosting Inc., a tech firm that has been near the Inner Harbor since 2005, is expanding its operations, the company announced Thursday.

"We are excited to continue to bring high tech jobs to Baltimore," said Michael Altman, the company's chief operating officer.

The company has about 45 employees, Altman said, and intends to add about 15 more workers over the next year. The company will also be taking about 30 percent more space in 120 E. Baltimore St., he said.

The growth is largely driven by increased interest in the firm's cloud hosting services, Altman said.

Edge Web Hosting is 15 years old and started in Owings Mills. Over the past two years, the company has almost doubled its employee ranks.
