Exelon-Constellation announces leadership team for merged firm

Constellation CFO would become CFO of combined company

Several top Constellation Energy executives would hold senior leadership positions in the combined company if its planned merger with Exelon Corp. is approved, Exelon said Friday.

Jonathan W. "Jack" Thayer, Constellation's chief financial officer, would become executive vice president and chief financial officer of the combined company, Exelon announced. A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission said Kathleen W. Hyle, senior vice president of Constellation Energy who now heads the company's growing retail and wholesale energy business, will continue to oversee the commercial businesses through the closing of the merger and is in discussions about a senior role within Exelon.

The executives would report to Christopher M. Crane, who would be president and chief executive after the merger.

After the deal closes, Ken DeFontes would stay on as chief executive of BGE, reporting to Denis P. O'Brien of Exelon, who would be senior executive vice president of Exelon Corp. and chief executive of Exelon Utilities.

The companies have previously said that Mayo A. Shattuck III, Constellation's chairman and CEO, would be executive chairman of the combined company.

So Mayonnaise Shadduck gets anoter golden parachute. He and the rest of these idots should be put in jail for stealing from the public. Talk about theft watch this bunch. Another white collar crime and in the background are our state leaders O'Malley, Busch and Miller. What a disgrace.

The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. You didn't think they were going to appoint a person who actually WORKS for a living? These " golden boys " have never worked a day in their lives. Work for them is decideing what $5,000.00 suit to wear that day and then it's off to the country club.

kathy- thanks for posting that comment. it highlights your ignorance and stupidity on energy deregulation. let me guess- you buy your power from BGE and not from another supplier? thats what i thought. furthermore- power is a commodity. it costs money to secure fuel (i.e. coal, natural gas etc)- it also costs money to build power plants, transmission lines AND to pay the salaries of the hardworking BGE employees. apparently you think it should be free. you sound like you want the state to subsidize your power or something? wow. talk about burden on society... i get my power for about 9 cents/kwh. do you know what a kwh is? regardless... if i want my bill to be lower i turn off lights, do less laundry, don't run the heat/AC as much, etc etc. BGE, omalley, etc etc HAVE NOTHING to do with my energy usage.

if you are so concerned about your power bill perhaps you should LOG OFFLINE, unplug your computer and stop complaining. your "democrooks" line is so lame. come on. re-read your post- is there any substance in it? the answer is no. take it deep
