The Baltimore Visitor Center on Tuesday launched "The Baltimore Experience," a new 10-minute interactive video using projection mapping technology to give visitors a multi-dimensional view of the city.

The video, which uses specialized software to show images on three dimensional surfaces, marks the 10th anniversary of the center, which is run by Visit Baltimore and has had 3.4 million visitors since opening in May 2004. Scenes feature swimming sharks and bombs bursting over Fort McHenry.

"The Baltimore Experience video provides us with a dynamic new way to sell the city," said Tom Noonan, president and CEO of Visit Baltimore, in an announcement. "We can now bring the city to life for visitors in a unique new way."

The video highlights city attractions, history and places of interest. It is narrated by Karim Clouden, a Baltimore resident, and was created with Camagine Design, which also produced a video for the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum.

In 2012, 23.2 million people visited Baltimore, up from 12 million a decade ago.
