A real(ity) look at the Emmys

The Emmy nominations were announced today, and it was good news for folks from So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With the Stars (and one person who's been on both shows).

In the choreography category, the nominations are:

-- Mia Michaels for her Gravity/Addiction routine for SYTYCD

-- Chelsie Hightower and Derek Hough for the Paso Doble/Malaquena for DWTS

-- Stacey Tookey for the Fear routine for SYTYCD

-- Derek Hough for his Futuristic Paso Doble/Living On Video & Quickstep/Anything Goes for DWTS

Oh, and the opening number for the Oscars.

In addition, the nominees for best competitive reality show are:

-- American Idol

-- Top Chef

-- Project Runway

-- The Amazing Race

-- Dancing With the Stars

For outstanding reality show, the nominees are:

-- Dirty Jobs

-- Kathy Griffin, My Life on the D List

-- Mythbusters

-- Undercover Boss

-- Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution

Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program nominees are:

-- Tom Bergeron, DWTS

-- Jeff Probst, Survivor

-- Phil Keoghan, TAR

-- Heidi Klum, Project Runway

-- Ryan Seacrest, American Idol

What do you think about the nominations? Anybody get snubbed? I'd love to see SYTYCD up for competitive reality show. And I'm pretty surprised Survivor didn't get nominated after two straight stellar seasons. I bet Russell's mad. (The show did get a reality cinematography nomination that's definitely deserved. High-def is the best thing to happen to that show in ages.
