Ordinary cat food cans take artful turn

In an eco-friendly program called "Together We Can," designed to highlight the recycling of cat food cans, the makers of Friskies and Fancy Feast asked artists and celebrities to make pieces based on cat food cans. In this picture, designer Kahi Lee poses with her "can-struction," a lamp made from used aluminium cat food cans. The works are on displays at RePURRposed Gallery in New York and the lamp was to go up for auction on eBay starting Monday with proceeds going to Keep America Beautiful. Actress Jennie Garth's "can-struction" is a floral arrangement made from parts of used aluminium cat food cans. Actor Peter Facinelli's crafted a motorcycle sculpture. Both are being auctioned on Ebay. Link to Garth's auction here. Link to Facinelli's auction here.
