Late morning with Dave included some updates on the banged up pitchers:
-- He confirmed that Rich Hill had gone for an MRI, but claimed it's just to confirm the x-rays, which showed no structural issues.
"He's getting the whole kit and kaboodle,'' said Trembley, who also cast doubt on the likelihood of Hill pitching in tomorrow's intrasquad game.
-- Brad Hennessey has increased his exercise program could start throwing again later this week.
-- Newly signed pitcher Adam Eaton is due in tomorrow.
-- Danys Baez and Jamie Walker are among the pitchers who will take part in an Orange and Black intrasquad game. The seven-inning game will be managed by Gary Allenson and Richie Hebner.
-- Trembley on whether both Ty Wigginton and Chris Gomez can both make the Opening Day roster:
"I can see that,'' he said. "I'd say Wigginton doesn't have to worry about making the team. It depends on 12 or 13 (pitchers)."
-- Gotta love this comment on top 2008 draft choice Brian Matusz, who has looked very good in his early outings, but definitely will not make the team out of spring training:
"He's got a twinkle in his eye. He's got a lot of confidence. He's got a tool box and he knows what to do with the tools in that toolbox."
