Orioles: Liz comes up short

Starter Radhames Liz made his first Grapefruit League start today against the Florida Marlins, but could not get through three innings before hitting his pitch limit. He gave up a run on one hit in the first inning and pitched a scoreless second before allowing the first two batters to reach base in the third. Manager Dave Trembley went out and got him at that point and brought on reliever Ryan Keefer.

It wasn't a terrible outing. Liz gave up two hits and a walk in his second appearance of the exhibition season. He worked two innings in relief against the Marlins on Saturday and gave up a run on three hits.

Scoring update: Matt Wieters gave the Orioles a 2-1 lead with an RBI double down the right field line -- his second hit of the game -- and Lou Montanez has added another run with an RBI single to center. Luke Scott drove in Ryan Freel in the first inning for the first Orioles run of the game.
