Baltimore Sun's 25 women to watch in 2016

Station North impressions?

What's your impression of the Station North Arts & Entertainment District?

For those of you that haven't heard of it, the main area is Charles Street by the Charles Theatre, up to North Avenue and east and west of there.

Personally, I think there are some really interesting art exhibitions, live shows and experimental events.

But outside of Joe Squared, the Metro Gallery, Flux Studios and the Charles Theater, the rest of the area is an eyesore. ...

It has a long, long way to go before it's a destination for most Baltimoreans.

And if you didn't know what went on there, you would never just stumble upon it. Everything but those two blocks of Charles Street can get pretty dodgy after dark.

Local artists are doing what they can to help spruce up the area, but there's only so much they can do. MICA students and artists Jason Hughes and Matthew Paulson, pictured in 2003, collected trash from an adjacent lot and used it to fill the bags they then attached to this rowhouse.
