When: Saturday, 7:35 p.m.

Outlook: The 26-game Major Indoor Soccer League season is nearly one-third complete, and the Blast has yet to hit a snag. With the second-place Comets visiting Baltimore, the Blast has a chance to add to its three-game lead. Coming off a 10-6 home win over Wichita on Dec. 7, the Blast simply has to keep doing what it's been doing: get balanced scoring and play strong team defense. On Nov. 24, the Blast was in complete control when it won, 12-4 at Missouri. The team blanked the Comets in the first half to take a 6-0 advantage and got a hat trick from rookie Tino Nunez. Machel Millwood (27 points), Max Ferdinand (25) and Tony Donatelli (24) are among the league leaders in scoring, and crafty veteran Adauto Neto is magical with the ball at his feet. The defense, which got another fine performance from goalie William Vanzela against Wichita, will have to keep a close eye on Comets forward Byron Alvarez, who ranks second in the league with 32 points. The Blast is on a 14-game regular-season home win streak dating back to last season and is two wins away from tying the 1993-94 team's record of 10 straight victories to start a season.
