Saturday: Galerie Myrtis

If you are in the mood for a more a more mature, polished gallery head to Galerie Myrtis, cozily nested in the first floor of a Charles Village brownstone. Visual art offerings include paintings, works on paper and sculpture from emerging local superstars, such as Jeffrey Kent and Maya Freylon Asante, to nationally known artists. The current exhibit, "Abstraction: The Syncopation of Light, Color, and Form" is up through Sept. 23 and explores color, pattern, and form, as well as social, metaphysical, and spiritual issues. Galerie Myrtis has also become a destination for book signings, artist panels and discussions on contemporary art.
