Film Events: The Last Command With the Alloy Orchestra Tonight at the Charles

Boston's Alloy Orchestra is familiar to any Maryland Film Festival moviegoer who has caught any of the trio's scores to classic silent films during the festival's run. Tonight, the Alloy Orchestra presents the East Coast premiere of its new score to Josef von Sternberg's 1928 The Last Command, being presented with a new print of the silent classic about a former Russian czarist general living as a struggling Los Angeles actor after the 1917 Revolution. Not to be missed.

Thursday, Sept. 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the Charles Theatre. (Ticketing details.)
