Loudermilk started her journalism career at The Sun, working in various positions, including copy editor, assistant features editor and metro reporter. She left the paper in 2001 to become a food editor at The Columbus Dispatch in Ohio. She is a former food and travel editor at Baltimore magazine and restaurant critic at Delaware Today magazine.
