RCA mascot Nipper

RCA mascot Nipper
James Wells of Fairfax, Va., looks up at Nipper, the famous canine mascot of the RCA Record Co., in his back yard in 1995. Wells, a self-described collector and junk dealer, paid $1 for the statue in 1973. The 14-foot, 1,800-pound dog for decades presided over downtown Baltimore atop a record distributor's building. Baltimore reclaimed part of its quirky past in 1996 when the City Life Museums raised $25,000 for Nipper and his gramophone.
