The good news for fans of Melissa Etheridge and state Del. Heather Mizeur: The Grammy-winning artist will help the Montgomery County Democrat raise money next week at a $1,000-a-head fundraiser that includes a concert ticket, backstage pass and meet-and-greet reception.
The even better news: One lucky person will get in on all that for a low, low $5.
Etheridge, a friend of Mizeur's, is coming to Baltimore for a concert Tuesday at Pier 6 Pavilion.
Anyone who shells out $1,000 gets a ticket to the show, admisison to a private reception and a backstage meet-and-greet with Etheridge.
"Imagine the great photo you will get for your Facebook profile pic!" Mizeur says in an email promoting the event.
Since the fundraiser is such a high-dollar event, Mizeur said she also opted to do a raffle to give more people a chance to attend. Anyone who contributes $5 to her campaign by midnight Friday will be entered into a raffle for admission to the show, reception and meet-and-greet.
The winner will be notified by noon Friday.
"To increase your chances of winning, purchase multiple tickets!" Mizeur suggests in the email.
"Limit 10 per individual."
You can enter the raffle here.
"I’ve got the best friends in the world," Mizeur told me. "Some are politicians, some are health care providers, some work at non-profit organizations; and one happens to be a Grammy award-winning rock star. What we all have in common is a dedication to making a difference in people’s lives. Melissa is very kind to show her support for me in this public way.”Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
