If you're wondering how the heck Sarah Palin's campaign bus wound up in Baltimore ...
Wait, it's not a campaign bus, Palin insists, but a "bus to be able to express to America how much we appreciate our foundation." So, if you're wondering how the heck Palin's "bus to be able to express to America how much we appreciate our foundation" wound up in Baltimore, I have the scoop from John Coale.
Coale, you may recall, is the major Democratic fundraiser and trial lawyer best known for:
A. Lending Martin O'Malley $500,000 in the final days of the 2006 governor's race.
B. Getting bitten in the hind end by Gov. O'Malley's ungrateful mutt, Scout, who was promptly "rehomed."
C. Being married to Fox's Greta Van Susteren.
D. Supporting Hillary Clinton in the 2008 presidential primary, backing the GOP ticket after she lost the nomination to Barack Obama and developing a huge crush on Palin, much to the horror of his Dem pals.
E. All of the above.
The answer is E. And this Democrat with the big checkbook, bite-marked keister, Foxy wife and platonic thing for Palin was on part of the former Alaska governor's bus trip Monday. He was there as a family friend, he said, not as a political adviser to Palin as he occasionally has been described in news reports.
"I was on [the tour] from dc to mount vernon," Coale told me in an e-mail. "I got off there and decided not to go to Maryland so I wouldn't [tick] off my Dem Friends in maryland. I pushed to get Fort McHenery on the tour b/c I knew it would bring national attention to this important historical site. My friends Sarah and Todd agreed.
"I love the fact that Sarah is sooo [ticking] off the media," he continued. "Dan Balz of the Washington post was beside himself (through emails and phone calls to SarahPAC that he couldn't get info on where she was going etc. this from a guy who has trashed Sarah for two years. ... the media types that were the most [ticked] off were the very ones who have been attacking Palin the most. go figure."Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
