Heirloom to Haute Gala

The Maryland Historical Society’s Heirloom to Haute Gala at the Lord Baltimore Hotel will feature several local designers who have been inspired by the organization’s collection of historical fashion pieces. Ella Pritsker of Ella Pritsker Couture has made a contemporary version of designer Claire McCardell’s “Popover Dress.” McCardell, who was born in Frederick in 1905, is also credited with inventing the ballet flat shoe and the creation of American sportswear for women.

Attend Maryland Historical Society’s Heirloom to Haute Gala on Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to midnight at Lord Baltimore Hotel, 20 W. Baltimore St., downtown. Tickets are $250. Go to mdhs.org.
