Golf courses and luxury homes have replaced the proud horse farm, near Ocean City, where War Admiral once grazed between Triple Crown victories. The brown colt captured all three races in 1937 for owner Sam Riddle, whose Berlin farm featured state-of-the-art equipment and its own one-mile track. War Admiral, son of the great Man o¿'War, won the Kentucky Derby by eight lengths and the Preakness by a head before tying the track record at the Belmont. Named Horse of the Year, he won 21 of 26 races lifetime. But he is best remembered for his loss to Seabiscuit in a 1938 match race at Pimlico. Seabiscuit, who won by four lengths, was pressed to set a track record to do so.
