STARTER: Joe Flacco. BACKUP: Tyrod Taylor. COMMENT: There were no surpriseshere because Flacco and Taylor werelocks to make the team. It's still undecidedwhether a banged-up Taylor (left shoulder contusion) will remain the primarybackup. There weren't many intriguingnames released Saturday, and Sage Rosenfels might be available if he reaches an injury settlement with the New York Giants.
STARTERS: Ray Rice RB, Vonta LeachFB. BACKUPS: Ricky Williams and Anthony Allen. COMMENT: The only running back remaining from last season is Rice. Leach isthe prototypical fullback, and Williams isthe consummate backup. Allen got thenod over Jalen Parmele after averaging6.8 yards on 11 carries this preseason.
STARTERS: Anquan Boldin, Lee Evans. be surprised if the Ravens add anotherveteran interior lineman before the season opener. Although Mattison did an admirable job, it would be smart for the Ravens to upgrade there considering Birkisn't fully recovered from surgery.
STARTERS: DT Haloti Ngata, NT Terrence Cody, DE Cory Redding. BACKUPS: DE Arthur Jones, NT Brandon McKinney, DE Pernell McPhee andDE Michael McAdoo. COMMENT:There's been an influx ofyouth here with Cody stepping into astarting role, Jones pushing for a startingrole and McAdoo surprisingly making theroster after joining the Ravens one dayafter going unpicked in the supplementaldraft on Aug. 22. The Ravens might betempted to slip McAdoo onto the practicesquad after they add a veteran cut overthe weekend. Ngata, Redding and McKinney were all locks to make the team.

COMMENT: The Ravens return the same BACKUPS: David Reed, Torrey Smith,Tandon Doss and LaQuan Williams. COMMENT: Boldin and Evans are the perfect complement of toughness and speed. It'll be interesting to see who steps up asthe No. 3 wideout. Reed is suspended forthe season opener after violating theNFL's substance abuse policy. Smith canstretch the field, but he struggled withcatching the ball this preseason. Doss hasbeen the more polished rookie. Williamshas been the team's most pleasant surprise of the preseason with big catchesand punt returns.
STARTER: Ed Dickson. BACKUPS: Dennis Pitta and Kris Wilson. COMMENT: The Ravens will replaceTodd Heap with a combined effort fromDickson and Pitta. Both are young andathletic. They also both made big playsdown the seam this preseason.
STARTERS: LT Bryant McKinnie, LGBen Grubbs, C Matt Birk, RG Marshal Yanda, RT Michael Oher. BACKUPS: G-T Mark LeVoir, C Bryan Mattison, T Jah Reid. COMMENT: The Ravens chose to keep anextra defensive back (Chykie Brown) anddefensive lineman (Michael McAdoo) bygoing with fewer offensive linemen. Don't starting four from a year ago, but the supporting cast is a bit different. Kruger hasreturned to being a linebacker after tryingto become a defensive end last year. Kindle could provide some pass rush aftermissing all of last season with a head injury. And McClellan, a practice squadmember last year, should make an impacton special teams.
STARTERS: TBD with cornerbacks. FSEd Reed, SS Bernard Pollard. BACKUPS: CB Jimmy Smith, CB Domonique Foxworth, CB Cary Williams, SSTom Zbikowski, FS Haruki Nakamura,CB Chris Carr, CB Lardarius Webb, CBChykie Brown. COMMENT: The only guaranteed starteris Reed, who led the NFL in interceptionslast season. Pollard is expected to get theother starting safety spot over Zbikowski. The starting cornerbacks could be anycombinations of rookie first-round pickSmith, Foxworth, Williams and Carr.
KICKER: Billy CundiffPUNTER: Sam KochLONG SNAPPER: Morgan CoxCOMMENT: There was no question thatthis group would return. Cundiff is coming off his first Pro Bowl, and Koch islooking to reach his first one. Cox is backafter starting training camp on the PUPbecause of knee surgery in December. The Ravens have some questions with thereturn game. As far as kickoffs, the Ravenshave to decide between David Reed, Torrey Smith and LaQuan Williams. The current depth chart has Reed on kickoff returns and Webb on punt returns.
