Q: Whom do I call regarding a mail subscription or purchase of back issues?

A: Contact Laura Shifflett at 410-332-6830 or toll-free at 1-800-829-8000, ext. 6830, or by e-mail at CustomerSatisfaction@baltsun.com. Back issues cost $4.50 for Sunday papers and $3.50 for daily papers, which includes all postage and handling. All orders must be pre-paid with a check or money order. Please note: back issues are only available for 30 days after the original publication date.


Q: I want to place a print ad in The Sun. Whom do I call?

Q: I want to advertise here on baltimoresun.com. Whom do I call?

Q: Whom do I call about delivery or subscription information?

A: Contact The Sun's Circulation Department at 888-539-1280 or you can subscribe to The Sun using baltimoresun.com's online form, here. Regular business hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday and Sunday. Customer service representatives can provide an update on the status of your prepaid account, accept a payment by phone, temporarily stop delivery of your paper while you're on vacation and restart delivery on the day when you return and record any delivery requests and forward them to your newspaper distributor for prompt attention.


Q: Where can I purchase today's issue of The Sun

A: Search our online database by business, street address and/or zip code for over 3,500 locations where you can find copies of The Sun.


Q: Whom do I call about placing a classified ad or death notice in The Sun or on baltimoresun.com?

A: To place a classified ad, call 410-539-7700. To place a death notice, call 410-332-1881. Or fax your ad to: 410-783-2507. You can submit private party classified ads online, here.

Staff are on hand to take your classified orders Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Deadline to place ads in the daily Sun is 4:30 p.m. Deadlines for the Sunday Sun classified section:

Employment: Thursdays at 6 p.m.
Real Estate: Thursdays at 6 p.m.
Miscellaneous: Fridays at 5 p.m.

Q: I want to comment about a story - what should I do?

A: There are several ways to express your reaction to Sun coverage. Send a letter to the editor for publication consideration by writing to: Letters to the Editor, The Sun, P.O. A: Our two-week archive is free of cost. Start your search here.


Q: How do I retrieve an article more than two weeks old?

A: Go to this page: www.baltimoresun.com/1990. Note: Searching is free, but there is a fee for retrieval.

Q: How do I contact reporters who do not have a link off their byline?

A: Search for a reporter's e-mail address here. Or direct queries to our public editor publiceditor@baltsun.com. You can also use snail mail to The Sun, 501 North Calvert Street, Baltimore, Md. 21278.


Q: How do I place an obituary or death notice?

A: An obituary can be submitted by calling the newsroom at 410-332-6536 or 410-332-6570. Death notices fall under the classified department at 410-332-1881.


Q: How do I locate archived obituaries and death notices?

A: For death notices (usually placed by the family), we have a 30-day searchable death notice archive. Death notices that are not in the archive are not available online. For death notices older than 30 days, go to the archives back to 1990.

For obituaries (articles written by Sun staff) from the past two weeks, view the obituary archive. For obituaries from beyond two weeks, go to the archives back to 1990. For obituaries from before 1990, please visit the main branch of the Enoch Pratt library where The Sun's microfilm is housed and can be view by the public free of charge.
