David Stepeney believes in keeping his fashion neat, as well as natty. This 42-year-old mortgage broker from Catonsville believes in dressing to impress. But, he says, "I have to impress me first. A neat appearance is of primary importance every day." When he's putting an outfit together, Stepeney starts with a pair of interesting slacks. Most of his have some sort of pattern or texture. He builds from there. Today, he started with brown and black tartan slacks from Jos. A. Bank's Signature collection. He's added a pink oxford button-down shirt from the Nautica store in Rehoboth Beach, and a black cashmere sweater from Bank. The Ferragamo horsebit loafers came from Nordstrom, and the matching belt from the Ferragamo store in Tyson's Corners. He found his black wool Triple Crown car coat at Charlie's Boutique in South Beach, Miami. Stepeney's finishing touches are Oliver Peoples sunglasses from Solstice Eyewear in Columbia Mall, and Bulova stainless steel watch from Macy's. He relies on Jos. A. Bank and Nordstrom for most of his fashion finds. But, there's one other absolute must-have. "A great tailor is paramount." Stepeney swears by One-Hour Valet in Mondawmin Mall. "If you look professional, you'll feel professional."
