Take Easton Avenue/William Penn Highway out of Bethlehem toward Easton. Turn left at the Farmersville Road light -- by Skateaway -- and make third left onto Rexford Drive, then the second right onto Jeanette Drive. Tune in 107.7 FM and enjoy the lights and music at Frosty's Christmas Tree Farm, 4211 Jeanette. This is the first of three home radio stations synchronized with lights on this route.
Continue toward Easton on William Penn. Turn right on Stone's Crossing Road, make a left on Virginia, left on Mine Lane Road and a right on Oregon to see Blowuppalooza at 3415.
Go around the block and turn left at the Mine Lane, and left on Freemansburg. Just past Blair on your left, make a right on Berks. At the second stop sign, turn left on Allan Street, then right on Wayne. Enjoy the flashing lights and music at 1326 Wayne.
Return to Allan and Berks, where you'll turn left. Set your FM dial at 106.7 and feast your eyes and ears on the spectacular 411 Berks. They're collecting for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Go back to Freemansburg Avenue, where you'll turn right and cross 25th Street into Wilson. After the next traffic light, turn right on Avona, go to the bottom of the hill and turn right on Iron Street. The red and green display at 422 Iron, where Iron meets Second, has become one of my favorites. Make sure you get a good look at the snowflakes and that back yard.
Go back to Freemansburg and turn right. At the light where you meet Butler, bear right, then bear right again where the road splits, take Wolf Street to the stop sign, and turn right. Go to the bottom of the hill past McDonald's, turn right, go over the bridge and bear right onto Canal Street. Pass Packer, turn left on Berwick, and you'll be floored by the two houses on your left, packed with more lights per square inch than I saw anywhere.
Make your next left, another left back to Canal, then right. Go back over the bridge, up South Third Street and halfway around the Circle, enjoying the Peace Candle, and continuing on Third over College Hill. It turns into Cattell Street, bears left and takes you into Forks Township, where you'll turn right at the Elizabeth Avenue light. Make a left on Richmond Road, pass the school and turn right on Ramblewood, then your third right on Arrowwood. You not only get the terrific multi-tiered display at 1624 -- I love the Christmas dragon -- but you have another stellar house across the street at 1625.
Return to the light at what is now Sullivan Trail, turn right and follow into Stockertown, where you'll turn left onto Route 191 south. After the road curves into Nazareth, turn right on North. The display at Church and North -- park and get out so you can see it on both sides -- has been one of my favorites for years.
OK, now you're ready for a truly grand finale, but it'll take you a few minutes to get there. Head back through Nazareth the way you came. When you hit Broad Street, turn left. This will become Bushkill Center Road as you head into Bushkill Township. You'll pass the elementary school and Constitution Avenue. Just past the Bushkill Volunteer Fire Company, turn right on Firehouse Road and follow it around to the right. Tune in 107.7 FM, and you'll be floored by the sprawling, music-synchronized display at 198. You'll need to turn left onto Miller Road to see the whole thing.
Get back to heading north on Bushkill Center Road, turn left at Route 512, and you can either return to Bethlehem where you started or pick up Leslie's Awesome Cookies by turning right on 946.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
