In Easton

Ashley Development Corp. of Bethlehem plans to renovate a vacant department store and build 30 condominiums, five or six businesses, and an underground parking garage for residents in the former Pomeroys in downtown Easton. Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, Ashley president Lou Pektor and city and county officials were on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony. Here, Northampton County councilman Michael Dowd, left, and former Easton mayor Tom Goldsmith stand outside the building.
