Inside Sales Representative
The Baltimore Sun is seeking a motivated, energetic Inside Sales Representative. Utilizing telephone sales techniques, this position increases revenue through print and online product sales to recruitment advertisers. Become part of a winning team by capitalizing on your current skills in making high volume outbound calls to develop sales and work in conjunction with our outside sales representatives. Your excellent customer service and sales background and persistent attitude will help our high energy and driven sales team to set new records continually. You will be responsible for making a minimum of 175 sales calls weekly and meeting revenue goals. If you have worked in a media sales setting before, then we want to talk with you. Advertising Designer
Responsibilities: The Advertising Designer will create ad designs and other related artwork for advertisers from conception to layout, finishing ads with copy, generating proofs and making revisions, uploading released ads, attending team meetings and attending sales calls to discuss creative topics with advertisers. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree with emphasis on graphic design or equivalent experience in graphic area, proficiency in Quark Xpress, Photoshop and Illustrator. Experience with Mac and ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate for this position will sell advertising to current and prospective customers within the major food and retail category. Other responsibilities include the creation of account sales strategies and development of sales presentations. A bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years' experience, as well as prior experience in marketing and media sales are preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities: Answers incoming calls, enters fax transactions retrieved by distributors and zone sales managers, enters single copy draw and returns, conducts fact-finding research, makes outgoing calls, enter orders, communicates with zone sales managers and agents. Other duties as assigned. High school diploma required, must type 30 wpm. Must have excellent verbal and communication skills, strong conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills, knowledge of Windows, the Internet and Microsoft Office and email programs.

Distribution Operations Manager
Responsibilities: Coordinating and managing the flow of 11 Distribution Centers in the metro area; training and coaching; inventory distribution and reconciliation; and proper administration of personnel documentation. qualified candidate must possess effective written and oral communication, sound judgment and three years of supervisory experience. A valid driver's license is required with a clean driving record. OSHA certified is preferred.

Labor Relations Manager
Responsibilities: Act as part of a three-person labor relations team administering six labor contracts covering 70% of The Sun's workforce. The Labor Relations Manager provides labor advice to all levels of management across all of the newspaper's departments and within Human Resources, supports collective bargaining, prepares for arbitrations and other labor litigation. At least five years' labor relations experience in a unionized environment is required.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Publishing Systems Analyst
Responsibilities: Analysis, design, problem solving, systems administration, and report development. The qualified candidate will participate in the implementation of a new Ad Tracking system. The necessary technical skills include but are not limited to solid Unix, Oracle database, and Oracle Report Developer. MAC knowledge and experience is a plus.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

Market Research Analyst
Responsibilities: The Market Research Analyst will gather, analyze, organize, and present primary and secondary research information to develop strategies and sales presentations. The qualified candidate will have a bachelor's degree from an accredited school in a related field plus 3-5 years experience in market/sales research. Must have experience conducting secondary research and competitive media research. Excellent communication skills and PowerPoint/Excel Skills are required. Knowledge of Scarborough and Claritas a plus.

Marketing Designer
Responsibilities include writing and designing advertisements, printed promotional collateral and support materials. This opportunity is ideal for a talented, creative team-player with graphic design experience at a newspaper, magazine or other deadline-oriented media setting. Candidates should be able to demonstrate proficiency in a Mac environment with graphic design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark XPress. Experience with audio/video editing software Final Cut is a plus. The ideal candidate will also pay attention to detail, have strong organizational skills and be able to work under extreme deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
