Princess Grace dies

<a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PECLB002738" title="Grace Kelly" href="/topic/entertainment/grace-kelly-PECLB002738.topic">Grace Kelly</a>, an American actress who married  Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, and became European royalty, died on Sept. 14,1982, at age 52 after suffering a stroke and crashing her car. Kelly appeared in many films in the 1950s, including <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PECLB002401" title="Alfred Hitchcock" href="/topic/entertainment/alfred-hitchcock-PECLB002401.topic">Alfred Hitchcock</a>'s <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ENMV0011474" title="Dial M for Murder (movie)" href="/topic/entertainment/movies/dial-m-for-murder-%28movie%29-ENMV0011474.topic">"Dial M for Murder"</a> and <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ENMV0011556" title="Rear Window (movie)" href="/topic/entertainment/movies/rear-window-%28movie%29-ENMV0011556.topic">"Rear Window."</a> She won an Academy Award for her role in "The Country Girl" in 1954. She quit acting at 26 when she married Prince Rainier.
